God, fix me, I’m broken

The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7 NLT to pray about everything and I do, but at times it feels like my prayers are repetitive and that I’m just repeating the same things over and over. Am I so shallow that I can’t pray daily without repeating the same things, am I boring God with the same old stuff everyday? Why do I feel like I’m just going through the motions?

The reason is because that’s exactly what I am doing. I think in a way we all are. Who are we compared to God? What can we do or say that hasn’t already been done or said? I mean God is God right?  And we are just humans. If we (humans) created another race where we were all-powerful and all-seeing how long could we listen to what they had to say over and over?

The difference is we are human and God is our God. He has what we don’t, the capacity to create us, to listen to us, to watch over us, to guide us and most importantly the capacity to love us. All we have to do is love Him back. That’s it, just love Him back, what a deal!

I’ll still pray my same old prayers, but I will add this to the list. God, fix me, I’m broken and my only hope of being mended is You. Thank you Lord for loving and caring about me, rest your hand on me and make me whole.
Thanks for listening, Dave
